Both cathode cans are running under the same circumstances and have the same diaphragm (with the same age).
Main differences between the Can-Tech Advanced Cathode Can (ACC-55-1 ) and the compared MDC-55 cathode with distribution blocks at PPG is the application of distributor plates (versus distributor blocks or pins) and the use of Jonge Poerink Heavy Duty screens.
Can-Tech’s ACC-55-1 is equipped with only one explosion copper/steel plate (copper thickness 25 mm) and has no connector bars. On the contrary the MDC-55 has 2 copper/steel plates of 38 mm each and two connector bars.
